Overclocking issues

Hello all I am new to the forum. i had a few questions to ask. My current rig is in my signature. i am having problems with overclocking my core 2 quad. i am stuck at 2.7 ghz. i cant clock it to 3.0 and boot windows but it will post. if i clock to 2.8 it will not post and i have to do a cmos reset. any help in this situation would be greatly appreciated.

I am running at 1.4v. The auto setting is 1.26v my VID is 1.32v. NB is at 1.3v because all 4 ram slots are populated. ram is getting 2.0v as specified by manufacture. And running unlinked.

Well I'm no expert on overclocking on LGA 775 but your voltage looks very high to me. What is your FSB voltage and speed? Ram voltage, speeds, latencies?

I am new to overclocking so i dont exactly know how to adjust fsb volts. my ram is runnign at 2.0v its at 800 mhz and the timings are 5-5-5-15. currently my fsb is 1199, at 1333 it posts but wont boot off of a install disc or into windows. bsod error.

What is your error? You might need to up your fsb voltage for 1333 to be stable. What BIOS are you using?

bios revision R01.A2 and the error is 0x00000024. and as i understand i shouldnt have to up the cpu volts for 3.0 ghz.

Well I just googled the stop error and it means that your NTFS file system is corrupt. Try reformatting your hard drive and see if it fixes anything.
