1x asus 5970 + 1x saphire 5970 = crossfire?

Thread Starter
i have been looking around but couldn't find anything related to this.
I already had a asus 5970 in my set up, I just received a sapphire 5970 as a gift.

Is it possible to crossfire those two? I'm guessing yes, its the same everything but the clocks are different right?

I've been slacking on reading up on forums

Please advise, if anybody tried this and if it works.

System Specs:

I860 @ 4ghz
corsair DDR3 1900Mhz 4gb of memory
H50 Cpu watercooler (push/pull)
Corsair 1000W Modular PSU
Asus P7P55D Mobo
2x 5970s (asus & Saphire)
Antec 1200 Case
Intel M 160GB boot Drive
2x 2TB hitachi Storage drives
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Yes it is fine, you have a kick ass system, enjoy. Also, in CFX the clocks work individually, but get them as high as you want

Have fun, try to not let the drivers/haters put you down

Download the latest drivers(or whichever ones you want), save them to desktop, uninstall your display drivers, shutdown and connect the new 5970 and CF cable, bootup and install drivers.

mhm I was expecting a little more performance with two 5970's my vintage score only went up by 4K from 22xxx to 26xxx and also crysis did not see a fps increase, also it says that the drivers are not supported by 3dmark03/06, vintage & 3dmark11.
My Windows Scale also went from 7.8 to 7.7.

any suggestions?
