Best headphones from here?

So my aunt surprised me this Christmas with more money than I though I was getting.

I have $150 to spend now, and I need an upgrade from my HD 201s. I would like to move on to some HD 555s, but unfortunately I live in Canada, and Sennheiser is under the impression that the exchange rate is 2:1, and they are rarely found under $200.

I could try eBay or get them imported from the states, but then I have to deal with shipping and customs.

If I get something from Long & McQuade however its super convenient and I can get it tomorrow after work!

The prices seem pretty decent, and hopefully will make up for the lack of shipping.

I'm looking for something around $100-150, will be used for metal, but mostly prog/symphonic, so I don't need crazy bass. I probably won't be wearing them away from my computer so something open and comfortable would be preferred.

I was looking at the AKG K141s or K240s, but I'm not sure.

There is another local store that I believe carries Grados, but they don't open until Tuesday and don't have their prices or stock online.

I would suggest the ATH-M50's. You could also get a Xonar DX along with that with your budget.

EDIT: Also, if you don't mind others being able to hear you and vice versa, you could look into the AD700 series as well.

Sorry, I'm not completely awake here. I would suggest that you get someone over here to send a set to you. You get a much better deal. Or even look to eBay.

Literally went all over the city looking for headphones. Tried out a pair of Grado SR-80i's. Guy wanted $160 for them though. (Note to self: buy these later)

Went to another store, they had a decent selection, no demos though.

Went to Tom Lee, tried out some AKG headphones (overpriced garbage), tried out some Sennheiser HD 280s, the lack of bass was actually painful. Tried out some Shure SRH-440s, and they had the same painful, uncontrolled 's' and 't' sounds that made me return my 840s.

Finally checked out their Audio Technicas... wow. I wanted to try the M50s, but they didn't have a demo, and they were $180.

Settled on the M35s, which I got for $90 after tax. Sound wise they aren't as nice as the SR-80i, but still pretty impressive for closed cans. They are also crazy light, and very comfortable. I just need to burn them in now...
