Oh. So how wide is it in inches? Or will I have to look that up?
Oh. Razer's site says "Approx. size in mm: 475(L) x 171(W) x 30(H)"
This means that it's "approx." 18.7007874015748 inches wide, and 6.732283464566929 inches deep. So, it's about 18.7 inches wide, and almost 6.74 inches deep (and about 1.18 inches tall).
Regarding the layout: I don't like having any keys on the left side for many reasons. One reason is that almost every keyboard that has keys on the left side makes for an "off-center" Esc key. The Esc key is technically in the same place, but when there are keys on the left like that, it means that the Esc key is no longer on the top-left corner. Instead, it's almost as if it was moved to the right an inch or two. So, that throws me off along with many other things that are caused by having keys over on the left.
And then there's the row of Function keys (F-keys). They simply do not follow the standard layout in regards to how the three groups are spaced. Razer decided to put all three of the groups as close as possible. So that would throw me off too (especially for Alt+F4, or just pressing F3). On most keyboards, all of the F-keys are in the exact same spot from keyboard to keyboard. But not on the BlackWidow! Even the G15 has the normal placement of the F-keys.
But of course, there's also the high-gloss finish that would bother me (which I suppose doesn't need an explanation).
Just in case, here's my ideal keyboard (which I am actually using hehe):
I love how there's absolutely nothing about this keyboard that deviates from the standard layout. I also like how there's no extra plastic around the outer edge. I don't like how there's extra plastic around the entire circumference of the BlackWidow.
