Who adapts their car to the race for GT5?

Thread Starter
Something that has always bugged me in GT games is that you can enter a race with a Zonda and compete against Audi TTs (nothing agianst TTs. Dun kill meh Syrillian).
And it's not just lower level races. In GT5, you will have just finished a race with multi million dollar cars, and the next race you unlock is against Mustangs. It is slightly counter-productive.
Anyways, my question is, if you are doing a race against say, Audi TTs, will you run a car similar in performance to keep it relevant? Or screw it all and run the race in an Enzo?
For me, I try to do the race with a close performing car the first time. If I need to grind the race for money, I want to do it as quick as possible.

I've been trying to make some quick money the last few races I've participated in so I've been using the fastest/best-tuned car I have (that meets the requirements for said race).

That being said, I usually just go pick up an appropriate car for the particular race I'm entering from the used car dealership.

Boy, I love this game.

I think this is one of the issues with GT5, I don't really know how fast the other cars are going to be when I go into the race. Sure I can grab the same car and somebody else, and get it to about the same HP, but usually I don't want to get exactly the same car as them. Then what happens is my car at a given HP/Weight is better than their's for whatever reason, then I just run away from them.

I try and stay relatively close in performance in A-Spec, in B-Spec I just destroy them so my guy wins easy and I don't have to micro him much.

I always use my stealth cars or my chrome line cars where I can. Most of the time my B-spec driver is running the 747B or the R8.
