I'm sorry. I do have 64 bit, I just got the X mixed up.

EDIT: Actually, it's the professional version, just like yours. Sorry about the mix up.

I may also run Windows XP, but my main system will be Win 7 64

You will be fine with anything.
FYI
32 bit has a 4gb limit on total amount of memory in the system.
64bit has a 128gb limit on total amount of memory in the system.
That is why I was asking what os and version you are going to use.

I had a change of heart. I understand that the Black Edition CPUs are easier to overclock because they are "unlocked." Will this cause me to need the ddr3 2000, or am I still ok going with the 1600? Sorry, this is the last question. confused.gif

You can still stick with DDR3-1600 for a black edition processor, with low timings DDR3-1600 provides good and adequate performance.

Get that 955 (C3 stepping, good for when you decide to OC the RAM) and a 1600 kit.
