Just got my Asus VE248H.. Few Questions

I just got the monitor, and its all good. Picture is great, no dead pixels. But the out of the box color is awful not sure what I should do at the moment I cant get it right, and as for the viewing angles there not the best. There is a bit of light bleeding around the edges not sure if this is normal since its an LED.

Also it seems like sometimes when I'm playing BC2 the screen tears this is only like every once in awhile but no sure if its supposed to happen at all.

Do I have a bad monitor?

Do you have VSync enabled?

Options > Settings > Overall Quality (Advanced) > VSync (On)

Doesnt that limit the frames and shouldnt that not be a problem on a 2ms gtg monitor?

screen tearing is not the monitor. that would be video card.

I have mine set to gaming mode, and it looks amazing (I got the same screen for christmas) I havent noticed any of those things with mine.

It limits the frames to your refresh rate, 60mhz in your case. You can't see anything better than 60FPS on your monitor and all it will do is cause tearing. 2ms is the response time, which is BS.

I have been considering this panel for awhile now. At $209 shipped the price is hard to ignore. I originally started looking at ASUS monitors because they are one of the only manufactures that uses VESA mounting compliance. Lately, however, I have been reading reports of ghosting on white background. The more I consider ASUS and these monitors the more I start to believe that the parts and components used are probably very cheap.

I mean the image quality is great the build quality is nice. I have not really noticed ghosting just bad color and viewing angles.

You know, I really like Asus monitors. My last monitor was an Asus too, and before that a really good LCD Samsung.

I've bought refurbished, open box, and new Asus monitors, all are still working to this day, or I sold them to someone.
