Good sling/backpack/daypack bag for under $100?

Alright, so it's time for me to upgrade my camera bag from the ancient one I currently have. Seriously, my current shoulder bag was made in 1989 before I was born...

So I currently have a D5000, the 18-55 kit lens, a 70-300 VR, a large flash, a monopod, and a few other accessories (batteries, chargers, memory cards). I am also planning on purchasing either a 50 f/1.8, 35 f/1.8, a wide zoom, or a larger midrange zoom when I get the money, so I want a little room to grow. I'm thinking room for the body plus 3-4 lenses and accessories is the right size to aim for right now.

I want either a sling or backpack bag, and I'd prefer side-entry so I can use it without taking it off of my shoulder and for the added security. Shoulder bags just kill my shoulder, and I do a lot of hiking and traveling so comfort is key.

I'm thinking at this point it's either Kata or Lowepro. My dad has a small Kata which I like, just wish it was bigger, really. Also I've had tons of Lowepro bags from my P&S days, so I know they're made well. Debating whether or not I want it to hold my laptop as well, as that would free up a carry-on when I travel. If there are models where the insert can be removed and still be used to protect the camera gear outside of the bag, then I'd be interested. I have a 15.4" laptop.

If you can expand your budget a bit more... I have a friend with one of these...

They're lovely and look much more "natural", like a courier bag.

Like I mentioned, I don't want any sort of shoulder bag... Even messenger bags kill my shoulder after a while (have one for my clarinet).

I'm a big fan of the Lowepro Fastpack 250 for everyday use.

I can fit in my D3100, 2 or 3 more lenses if I had them, charger + spare batteries, a 15" laptop AND 3 days worth of clothes and basic toiletries for a quick weekend. Cost me about 55 euros online (115 in store).
It's decently made. Feels solid to me. Velcro in the camera compartment to re-organize it is VERY strong.

I just stayed 4 days in Paris from Luxembourg with just this bag for my clothes, camera + reading/music.

That Lowepro bag looks very nice! However, the fact that it can carry that much makes me a little wary, as I don't think I want a bag that big. After some deliberation, I'm thinking I'll go for one of Kata's small offerings. I'll poke around a bit with my dad's 123-GO-10, and decide which size of bag I'll go for. The ability to have a nice compact bag that can easily be used as a carry-on or on trips is very appealing.

Thanks for the help guys, +REP.
