First time build suggestions and OC

So, I bought a new system for boxing day today, and I want some input on my choice of parts.

CPU: i7 950 @ 3.06 ghz
Mobo: asus p6x58d-e
Ram: corsair vengeance ddr3
Gpu: Evga gts 450 sc 1gb x2
CPU cooler: cooler master v8
Case: Haf 932 black
Psu: corsair pro series 750w modular
Win 7 pro 64bit
Hdd: WD 1.5 tb black
Sound: creative x-fi titanium fatality

As for oc, what would be a mild oc that won't damage the lifetime of the components? I'm not interested in extreme oc, just something that's easy to do and is stable (and cool)...

Everything looks good except... Why did you choose 2 450's for your GPU? I would have gotten 1 GTX 460 which is close in performance to 2 450's and if the need arises put another 460 in. Other than that.... Top notch choices!

Some good choices on the parts except for maybe that V8. If you want just a mild OC (something like 3.6 - 3.8GHz) then it will do just fine. If you wanna go beyond 4GHz then that's another story.

As for damaging the life of the components, most of the members here switch out their CPU (and in some cases, their mobo) every few years anyway, myself included.

Thanks... i'm probably not going to hit the 4Ghz mark any time soon anyway...

on a different note, do you know of any way that i can use the speed adjuster knob on the v8 on the front of my case? i dont want to always reach out to the back to adjust the speed from the pci knob...
