Motherboard Screws

Well turns out I used the wrong screws while installing my mb the first time, used the screws with the threads under the screw head. While that won't matter right now and if I leave it is is fine I can't keep installing and taking it apart with those screws because it will mess up the MB and the solder.

So where online can I pick up these screws? (I tried home depot, ace, radio shack, etc)

Plus REP to anyone who can help.

Most motherboard stand-offs accept 6-32 screws. So you can basically head over to your local hardware store and get them cheap. Or you can get them off of eBay like The Master Chief suggested.

But what size are they... Like what would I google or what would I tell the hardware store. I was told 3M 5mm or something (I forget) I asked all the places around my area no one had them.

Also does anyone know if those screws I used would seriously mess anything up?

MasterCheif what size and type where the screws you bought so I can ask local places? Thanks!

6/32 is imperial, so ¼" length.

Alternatively, you can get a bundle (50 count) for $4.90 shipped. Or if you needed some M3 or other 6/32 screws, get the combo pack.

*Edit*

Some Wiki information on the different computer screws.

Still two questions, lol.

What would I ask for if I called my local store? I know the length but what are the type of screw?
and
Are those screws I'm using now going to cause damage?

How do I know which the HAF X uses??

Which is "thicker" the 6-32 or the M3. I just checked and thicker one fits better in the standoffs.
