GeForce To Quadro FX

Thread Starter
So I'm looking into getting a new workstation card for my CAD build and I was wondering if there were any soft-mods to do that would take a GeForce card and turn it into a Quadro FX. If there are any cards that came out recently that you can do this with that would be the most helpful.

It's been a while since that was doable.
Probably not going to find anything that useful in modern tech.

You can always get a 470 or 570 as they should perform pretty well in CAD, with their 448 - 480 CUDA cores, they will give pretty good performance.

My 470 is impressive in Premiere for example, and performs on par with the performance seen in this video, where they're using a Quadro 4800 in that demo, yet the 470 can hold its own, and I'd imagine it will do the same in CAD.

I would recommend the cheaper 460 to you, but NVIDIA removed FP64 from 2 of the 3 blocks of CUDA cores. As a result 1 block of 16 CUDA cores is FP64 capable, while the other 2 are not.

So out of those cards what would be the best for programs like SolidWorks, MasterCAM X5, and PhotoView360? And what is the best brand to buy (ASUS, PNY, EVGA)
