looking back at your amp rates for +12v rail it seems kinda low doesnt it?

Yea, I was thinking the same thing.

22A is low.

SLI 460's 1GB are just as good as a 580 as long as the res/AA levels aren't so high that GPU memory usage is exorbitant. Certainly have a lot more shaders with this setup ...

AFA the PSU goes, PERSONALLY, I won't use molex adapters to hook up gfx cards. Not that it won't work, but because the wiring ends up looking ugly as sin.

And as you've correctly noticed, you have 4 OCP circuits, but no idea what combination of modular jacks on the back each OCP is hooked up to. In my book, this just adds to how much I wouldn't want to use molex adapters.

My feelings aside though ... you may end up having to fiddle around with which modular plugs to use on the back in order to properly 'make up' the two necessary molex-->6pin adapters so that you don't go tripping the OCP.

HOWEVER, there's a more than decent chance that you could pick which jacks to use at random, and end up totally fine, and that PSU could work perfectly w/o a hitch or hassle aside from having the ugly adapters in there

BTW, this PSU does 52A (624W) on the 12+ circuit.

I had two GTX 460's folding on a OCZ GameXstreme 600W with no problems. Now running 2 GTX 460's and a GTX 480 on a OCZ 1000w. My machine running folding at home on all three cards is drawing under 700w.

According to your suggestions,
I may use the two pci-e power connectors among the two cards than distribute the peripherals connectors among gpus so that they all come from separate OCP circuits.

but in that case cpu might also taking power from a certain rail and if used with gpu as well, which increasaes chances of O/C on that rail??

So according to you and other, PSU Upgradation is required or not

its better to upgrade the psu for future component upgrades
get a decent 1000 watt power supply i suppose
i have the cooler master silent pro m1000
running with it 3 gtx 470 and 1 gtx 460 for physx
of course that is without using peripherals sockets
this is how i have them set up:
1 pcie power cable with a splitter to power a single gpu x2 (2 gpus using 2)
and 2 pcie for one gpu x2 (2 gpus using 4)

You probably don't NEED to, as that PSU will likely work, it's just possible you may have to fiddle around w/how you hook up the molex adapters in order to get it to do so ... and the wiring will be ugly-looking.

If it were me, I'd upgrade to a PSU w/4 PCI-Ex 6-pin connectors built-in.

Dunno if you can newegg where you're at, but this is a sweet deal on a pretty ideal PSU for that setup (even has free shipping and a 10% off promo on top of the MIR ... making it like $60 shipped)
