PhysX

Thread Starter
Was reading the PhysX FAQ and i see there are only a few games that actually use PhysX.
someone just offered me a GTX260, and the only reason i would trade him is for this purpose along.

Is it worth it?
Does it help with any other games?

What games do you have that run physx? You can always just buy a card to run along with your main card for dedicated physx.

The benefits will not be worth the cost. The 580 handles physx nicely on its own.

PhysX is debatable, given the fact that many sites have different opinions. There is even an opinion floating that AMD is going to make PhysX obsolete in the near future but I wouldn't count on it. That which I did not get is..They offer you a GTX260? I would not get a different card just for PhysX.

The question is, do you even play them?

Having a 260 for physx is nice, but if 99% of the time its never used, no point getting it

Also, in most cases, the 580 can handle physx without the need for a dedicated card, except a selective of very few games which takes physx very seriously (like mafia 2).

So basically, no, its not really worth it.

But if you do play physx games, feel the need for it, go for it, as long as the price is right.
