Yes, it is not that certain. I just recall reading about it in a couple of product RAM reviews.

Honestly I'm just babbling from experience but even DDR2 800 RAM isn't any (noticeably) slower than DDR2 1066 or even 2000, at least not in real world home use. The slowest component in a PC is still the hard drive, though SSDs are starting to take care of that. If the price difference is negligible, you might as well just go for the faster RAM, but if it's like $50 vs $100 just go for the cheaper RAM.

Just stumbled upon this thread when I realized that I bought AMD Entertainment Edition 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 instead of G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Not feeling to bad about it now thought, might not RMA it...
