From what I've heard, Phenom I's are very bad overclockers, so it might not be much use.
But dont count on my word tho

I have a Compaq SR5410F :[ SetFSB works, but its very unstable cause of the voltage.

they are very bad anything

OP: your BIOS will be locked, as well as your parts being sub-par
you could try software to overclock the system, but it probably won't work and your powersupply as well as cooling and motherboard are not strong enough to handle the extra stress

in short, no you can't

As others have said, pre-built machines are bios locked to prevent you from overclocking, your PSU and motherboard wont handle the extra stress and you will mostly likely overheat something without aftermarket cooling.

Software overclocking is a bad idea as you cannot control any voltages properly, and you can unlock a locked bios but not without flashing a unlocked bios for your motherboard.

thx for your replies

forgot to mention that i was not planning to oc it to something like 2.5ghz

0.2ghz increase would be fine

i only need to overclock to test something

On a prebuilt the only option is software, and that is frowned upon at the best of times.
