htpc xbox 360 combo techbench

hey guys!

Im new here and wanted to show you guys what I started working on last week. I have had my htpc running for about a year now. Its nothing crazy, asus mobo (hdmi port was only requirement for me), amd cpu, 40g hdd and a 1tb hdd, ubuntu 10.10 os. I just got back into playing the 360 with the release of black ops. so it was time for some modding as the fans can be better on it. (would like to do liquid but no $$ for that currently).

the xbox and the htpc share a 1000w rosewell psu. I wired in a npn transistor with a 100ohm resistor in line so I can turn the psu on with the xbox. it works great. I am going to mod the tech bench I built more this week and get everything fitting correctly, then I need to clean up the wiring and get new fans mounted. Here is a cell phone pic from this morning. If anyone has a suggestions, questions, or just feel free to let me know what you think.

Nick

Made the bench a little smaller last night and changed up how the drives mounted. I need to pick up a new hdd for my os as ide is soooo out dated haha. I really like the look of the Clemens ones built by the member here(i think that was the name of them). So this unit may be temporary until I am able to come up with such an idea.

Where do you guys buy most of your parts? Fans, screws, cables and what not? I use newegg for most of my stuff, but I was wondering what other site is recommended.

Thanks guys

petrastechshop.com

frozencpu.com

jab-tech.com

Those are the sites I use for everything no literal hardware.

Hey guys....I would like to replace the dvd drive on the xbox with one that has the same face/mounting as a normal dvd drive. Can I flash/spoof any dvd drive to do so? I am currently doing some reading on that subject. I am working on a design for a case.

Thanks
