Issue With RROD Fix - Page 3

Big key would be a flattened wire than was previously round. Burn marks around solder joins would also appear depending on where the short was. Any breaks/tears in the wires insulation can cause shorting as well so it's best to tape them up if you find any.

On that cord to the DVD drive is it missing wires? Could that be why its not working?

There is two empty pins, but that doesn't mean they are used from factory. If you haven't removed any wiring, that wont be your problem.

Heres another quick Snapshot of the Motherboard. Can anyone tell me if maybe they see anything wrong or what to look for?

If I remember correctly Xbox 360's have something called efuse's. There are so many on the board and they pop when the RRoD "fix" is applied. 360's only have so many reheats till they are done for good. After fixing some I ordered 500 broken units for 3$ each (I love bulk pricing). Out of the 500 around 400 worked. after a month that number doped to 200.

There comes a time to pull the heat sink (claim your trophy) and get a new toy
