San Andreas.

Don't get me wrong, Vice City is awesome, but San An took everything about Vice City and multiplied it. it's bigger, especially map wise, the locations are more varied and diverse, like Angel Pine and Las Venturas. Heck even the different areas of Los Santos.

Music is on point (though I preferred the music and stations of vice city - nothing beats Oliver ladykillers biscuit XD) and the atmosphere really makes me imagine what might have been like in early 90s California.

I also resonated with CJ more and I thought the story was better - it's more personal as compared to tommy's "oh you owe some guy you don't know and never really understand money". It's a fun and also somewhat serious rags to riches story. The cast is awesome too - Ryder, big smoke, and toreno being standouts. I missed the entrepreneurial spirit of vice city though as you can't reapply dough with businesses.

Both are great games but I find San An easier to replay though and it edges out slightly.

As for 4, it was an overhyped, boring game. it took most of the fun of gta and threw it away to try and be serious.. In that it failed. So little to do on the side, you cant go off and steal a tank for example and just cause mayhem. No business, no property, nothing to make you feel like it's GTA

Even the graphics aren't so great (no AA)

Vice City is what got me hooked on the GTA series, But so far I've liked San Andreas the best. I think they should have kept features like character customization in GTA 4.

Nononono the Dust was a waaaay better station. The commentary was the best.

Definitely SA. Vice City isn't as big as SA mapwise, and IV's story and gameplay just isn't as good. In SA you can own neighborhoods, fight gang wars, steal jets, etc. In IV you can only go on dates aside from the main mission. Also it felt like in SA you can take more shots, in IV a few shots and you're dead. It's too realistic, I love the over the top feel of older GTA games. I hope they add some of the craziness back in the next game. It seems like they are going the right direction though, Gay Tony's DLC was good. Blow up building, and hijack a train, that was great fun. They should've made it the main story and Niko's story should've been DLC.

SA for me. Vice being a very close second. I detested IV. It was a poorly put together game imo. Extremely boring and so far away from original "feel" of GTA that it didn't even seem like the same series.

Vice city and San Andreas both felt very similar to me. I just wish rockstar would bring over Red Dead Redemption to PC.

San Andreas was good but Vice City had a bigger element of comedy, but that could be that I remember the 80's?
GTA4 took it self to seriously
