GTX 470 artifacts (I think)

While playing Starcraft II I get these weird black outlined boxes in the cutscenes. These boxes do not happen during gameplay and only during cutscenes. An example would be the mission where you control the laser drill. During the intro video of the mission, while the laser is shooting, there is the weird transparent square-like object that appear around the laser. Are these artifacts? I've never OC'd my GPU (GTX 470). I have, however, OC'd my CPU (965 BE).

Sounds more like a texture problem.

artifacts look like snow or little dots or complete screen screw up lol

Hm. Is there any way to fix it? It's not a huge deal but I did just spend alot on this computer.

Funny you should mention this because my ASUS GTX 570 is artifacting and having texture problems like crazy. I gamed on the card perfectly fine for a couple of days. Yesterday, I applied update 4 to Fallout New Vegas and when I launched the game the textures were a mess you could not make sense of the world at all. The game would eventually crash if you tried running through the spikes and blobs of textures. I assumed this was a problem with the new Fallout update.

I installed BF2 and patched it all the way to v1.5. As soon as I load the game I have weird green textures for trees, blue hands, but the game plays. As I start running through the world the textures would blow up in size and the game locks up.

I uninstalled my drivers, ran driver sweeper, and installed divers 263.09 again. The problem still presits. I really hope it is not a bad card... I don't get it. I will try reseating the card later but I am holding out hope this is a bad driver.

Maybe I should attempt a driver update. Pretty sure I'm at the current one though. A few of my other games have minor flaws in the videos (not gameplay) which I find weird.

Artifacts are pretty much anything that isn't supposed to be there that isn't caused by a software error... they don't have to look like dots or snow.

OP, could you possibly take a screenshot of what is happening? Just press Print Screen on your keyboard and paste it into MS Paint and save.

The ironic thing is I decided to jump ship from ATi and spend the extra $50 on a GTX 570 for supposed superior drivers. The last laugh is on me because the 6950 can now be flashed to a 6970 and it is $50 cheaper.

Yeah but what he is talking about, the box around the laser sounds like a texture issue... And its only in cut scenes. I can almost guarantee that it isnt artifacts.
