Wooden Xbox Case Mod (Original)

Thread Starter
I have an original xbox that i want to do something with, i don't really use it, but i want to just do something with it.

I have it modded with a new heatsink and it has an 80gb hard drive in it, so i can pretty much do anything with it.

EDIT: I have decided that I want to build a wooden case for it.
The case will stand up like a 360 case, and will feature 2 usb plugs in the front, 120mm fan at the bottom, exhuast vents at the top in the form of slots, Extra TV connections on the back. And possibly a bigger hard drive.

I am working on the design in google sketchup right now.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

#1 First prototype of the case design.
#2 Design being finalized and front hardware choosen.
#3 Pictures of fans and other hardware.
#4 Torn apart A/V cable for the A/V hookup box.
#5 A/V box prototype.

here are a few pictures of the heatsink mod.

give me ideas please.

Holes for better ventilation and cut a hole in the top and replace is with something clear to see inside.

I have already modded the controller with a USB plug in it, I guess i could replace the 3 and 4 controller ports with usb plugs.

It is already softmodded, so what benefit would I get from a mod chip?

bump.

So I have decided that I am going to build a case for it out of wood, it will be retro and will stand up. So the case will intake air at the bottom and draw it up through to the top using either a 120mm fan, or dual 80mm fans at the top on a fan controller.

I also plan on building some connections on the back so i can hook up VGA, composite, or component. So i won't have to hook up a audio video cable to it.

If i can get my hands on a wireless adapter for it I will include that inside the case too.

Mine has a solderless chip in it. Loaded up that windows media type program. It's now a home theater console. I haven't powered mine up in years. Goes I should blow off the dust.

sweet. I have mine softmodded, so it does pretty much everything a box with a mod chip does.
I am currently designing a case I am going to build out of wood.
I will be sweet.

I've seen one of these done a long time ago, but it wasn't standing like a 360, just flat. Will be watching.
