the hard drive clicks for about 30 seconds before it works you need to wait till it warms up lol then reset the xbox and it works but games are laggy as heck halo isn't even playable. my guess is the GPU is damaged from the years of being run when it was way too hot.

I would love to do some updates to the thread, but I recently got a new job and moved away from home. So I no longer have easy access to my dads wood working shop.

I tried booting up the xbox the other day and it looks like it is having some tough time, not sure if it is the drive going bad or if it is the IDE cables giving out on me again.

I will have to check into it some more.

The last thing I have to do to finish the project it to figure out a way to mount the door and mount up some exhuast fans on the top somehow, and then mount the CD drive (if I even use the CD drive).

90% of the games on that xbox are either Isos or backed up to the hard drive already.

just be careful because wood will hold heat and "insulate" So you may need more fans etc. also I would recommend using a harder wood that way you can keep it thinner and also have less of the insulating effect, and drill a lot of tiny holes if need be for ventilation
