I think I broke/damaged a switch on my U9BL - Page 4

from their website sounds like your rma will not go through.
http://www.xarmor-usa.com/returns-rma.html
since your product was not doa (you basically exerted too much force in removing a keycap, i've removed over 200 cherry keycaps and this hasn't happened to me [i will admit it was on browns so they are built different] but it's just too much force, plus the coat hanger issue) they'll prolly even charge you 20$ for wrongful doa and charge you for the shipping back, along with the 15% restocking fee.

XArmor was great to me, however I didn't pull a switch out. I told them I removed key caps and everything to examine damage to the key caps. And they said send it back. They even gave me a pre-paid UPS label. (I had to ask them for it though.)

If they are nice as they are via email, this should go smoothly.

it had nothing to do with how much force I applied, the switch was jammed into the key I still cant get the switch outa the key itself, it had nothing to do with what I did, it was bad planning on their part to make it the way they did, I didnt use a coat hanger either, I used the tool they give you with this keyboard, wow you assume alot dont you? I was just checking out the switches myself to see if it was fine under there because I saw that the light wasnt shining through a certain part of the key, I was new on what I was doing and i couldnt get a grip on the key itself for a while and thats why I guess it scratched the board like it did, it took me awhile to get a grip on the key, and then i pulled it and it came out, simple as that. then after that I did it to the WASD keys and the same thing didnt happen.

Hahaha, email from XArmor:

Quote:
We will send one board out to your attention and kindly use the UPS label included to ship the old board back.
SEE YOU IN MEXICO, I'M OUTTA HERE.

Joking (of course).

Despite the quality of keyboard this company has given me, I really like how they do business. They're sending me ANOTHER keyboard first, then I can ship mine back to them, for free.

I love you XArmor, I really do. You can send me a box of s*** and I'd still love you.

Oh and the reason I mention quality is because I found another piece of paper under the left shift key so the switch doesn't slide far into the key cap causing it to feel mushy when it bottoms out. I guess they did this on purpose so the key is raised higher and gives a nice click when pressed. (Without the paper the key goes down a little farther making the stabilizer metal rod push against the plastic making it feel mushy.) Nonetheless I think it's a very ghetto fix and I'm not sure why they did that for a few keys. Who knows... I may have even got a used board, but that would be weird...

They replied within 2 hours to 3 diffrent emails from me today. Very helpful. answered all kinds of questions (including "unreleased" details on the upcoming U9PLUS... what other company would do that?)... I unno one of us must be getting exceptional treatment. Either mine is exceptionally good or yours is exceptionally bad.

People seem to attack XArmor for flaws in their keyboards. I'm waiting for their upcoming models since I have a $25 discount code for it. Typing on my laptop and diNovo Edge feels like mashed potatoes anyway. Now that I got some Steam games, a new mechanical keyboard would be nice to have for those games.

I'm not attacking XArmor by any means. I just state the abnormal amount of flaws with my particular one.

I'm not mad about it or anything, they have excellent customer service. Something Razer couldn't pull out of their ass. Did you see that post of some guy who lost his warranty because he removed a key cap. (With the INCLUDED puller.)

Razer makes me vomit.

im glad all of you have had luck with them, they told me:

Quote:
When removing the keycap, you will need to align both end of the keycap puller with the keycap and pull it up gently.
I've saw your picture.

1) slowly push the key up and down motion, does it give you the tactile feedback?
2) if it response to every key strokes then your key switch is fine.

There is no need to RMA the keyboard.

please let me know if you have further questions.
like I havent tried this to begin with, i waited all this time and I got this response at 7:30, and it seems now I have tried to put the key back in its place I have made it worse now, they key wont even go in the switch anymore, seems like something moved like the white part of the switch, it moved down, and it wont come up, ugh, I just want this to work. I feel like im making it worse.

update: just tried moving the white part back up to catch the rest of the switch (blue part) and it caught it, but no clicking noise, it doesnt register when i press it down.

Just reply back to them saying, "Yes, I put the switch back in and it doesn't work". or "The switch won't go back in.(If it won't)" They should give you an RMA. Also tell them you DID pull it out gently, and that the switch was in the key cap extremely tight. They went to bed, they usually reply to me 1PM-8PM EST
