Mionix NAOS 5000 First Impression + more?

Who has both and can tell me how heavy each one is compared to each other with both mice not having any weights in them?

You can also compare the Mionix NAOS 5000 with the Razer Lachesis as I have that too.

I just ordered a Mionix NAOS 5000.. just something new to try. I wanted to know what to expect weight-wise. Thank you, gentlemen.

I just got it.

The NAOS is slightly lighter than the G500 with both mice empty (weight-wise).
Feet are way better than G500 and that's an understatement.
More ergonomical even though my pinky rubs the mouse pad if I completely palm it, but whatever. I see they still haven't made a mouse for an average size man's hands.
The only thing I'm worried about is the palm gripping itself, and my ability to play like that. I held my mouse pretty aggressively with my G500 so I had more control over it. I kind of feel like I lost that complete control with this mouse(when I palm grip it.)

I can still hold the NAOS like I did my G500, it just feels a bit more weird since I used to curl my (right ring?) finger and my right pinky up against the side of the G500. I can still do that here but it's higher since it has a wing for those fingers.

Love the software, and ability to change lift off tracking distance. When set to low this mouse almost immediately stops tracking the moment you take it off the surface you're using. Which is great in my opinion. (Of course this can be changed.)

Scroll wheel feels exactly like my old Razer Lachesis, which is good. Semi-hard to scroll, not like the G500 which you can practically breathe on it and it will scroll. There is a small rattle from something I can't quite find inside the mouse, and I'm not opening it just yet. But the G500 was way worse. With the G500 the entire thing rattled like crazy due to the sideways scrolling mouse wheel when you shook it back and forth fast. Scratch that I just found why it was rattling, the weight-doors on it are slightly loose. (NAOS 5000) If it becomes a problem, you can just take the doors completely off. No more rattling, totally solid, silent mouse. Right click is not rattly. It just sits lightly on top of the switch, so if you bounce it it will jiggle. The G500 and the NAOS have about the same amount of rattle in the right click.

With all of the weights in it I almost get the sense that I could bludgeon someone to death with this thing. Also the door rattling goes away when you put the weights in.

I just played a round of black ops which is basically nothing but reflexes and I did the same as the G500, so that's good.

It's just a little weird trying to game and using palm grip, I end up claw-palming it.

Wish I had seen this earlier...I was just at my friends house who has a G500 and I have the Naos 5000. If no one else responds in a few days, I will make my way over there again and let you know.

Well I used overnight shipping, so I could just wait a day or two and find out myself.

Edit:

Tracking number says it's out for delivery. Should receive it within 3 hours.

I've had numerous Logitech and Razer mice. I gave up my beloved Deathadder for the Naos 500. After a month of use, I've never regretted the purchase.

The Naos is the best mouse I've ever used hands down.

1. You have the ring finger on the side of the mouse? So you have the index on the left mouse button and middle finger on the right mouse button? Must be weird...

2. While the G500's scroll wheel is kinda loose, it isn't so loose you can practically breathe on it to scroll.

3. The reason why it's rattling is that you don't have a finger resting on it.

But interesting, you're one of the few I've heard had one of these. It was pretty tempting, but the G500 had superior specs (an extra button, higher DPI and 5 instead of 3 DPI steps), so that's what I bought. My friend was gonna get one, but ended up buying a Razer which disappointed me as I wanted to try the NAOS.

I've heard of people right clicking with their ring finger and using their middle for scroll wheel but that's not how you use a mouse in my humble opinion. It feels retarded to me. Standard mouse operating procedure is index on left, ring on right.

By the way, it still rattles with my finger on it. So did my first G500.

Also the breathe thing was an exaggeration...lol

BTW your NAOS has that ledge which makes it weird to have your ring finger out there. You know why? Because they designed the mouse for people who uses the middle finger for the wheel and the ring finger for the right mouse button. I don't mind if you use it your way, I'm just saying that's how the developers expect them to be used.
Huh? The NAOS was made for ring and pinky to be outside. That's why there's two slots.

You see that thing on the side as a slot? I'd not be able to have my finger out there, so I assumed it was just sum fancy design choice... Guess you really do have big hands

Those two dips in the wing are for both your fingers, same design as the Steelseries Ikari.

My friends hands are bigger than mine. He can cover the entire G500 from front to back. He can have his palm hitting back of mouse+mouse pad, and fingers touching the pad again but on the opposite end, totally going over the mouse. I'm about a cm and a half away from touching the pad in the front when I do that.

Sorry, had to.

BRB getting burger king, commercial triggered my craving center.
