Stock X6 1090T Failed Prime95 Stress Test

Thread Starter
This is a fairly new system and i use it mainly for rendering. Everything is in default and when i did a stress test, one core(#3) failed after 8hr 58min while the rest work flawlessly. i then did a memtest86+ following that failure which detect no error for 20hrs(9pass). after that pass i did the same blend stress test and there was no problem for 20hrs. now when i did another stress test one of the core(#1) failed after 12hr 58min. all this was after i upgrade to the max 16gb and i remember while on 8gb it pass prime95 for 20hr+. i did a render while prime95 showed that fatal error and it was working again. anyone know what may be the problem? first amd and gigabyte btw.

FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4 Hardware failure detected, consult stress .txt file.

I know you didn't get a "RAM" error, but is the VDIMM set to what the RAM modules are expecting? For some reason, none of my motherboards BIOS have properly set the VDIMM. Could be a very likely scenario. Also, I have no experience with utilizing that much RAM--perhaps it's stressing out the motherboard or memory controller, and it needs more than stock volts?

Have you used any other stress tests? Linx?

Set your RAM Voltage manually. Some mobos undervolt RAM if set @ AUTO. Check your RAM sticker for stock voltage. (you can raise it a little bit).
