Western Digital TV Live / Live Plus (1080p media player w/Netflix, Youtube) - $49/54

Thread Starter
Western Digital TV Live: $49
Western Digital TV Live Plus: $54

Western Digital Outlet has the TV Live and TV Live Plus on sale for $54.99 and $59.99 respectively.

Apply promotional code "OUTLETSALE" for an additional 10% off.

If you order two, you can use the code "WDCARES" to receive $15 off $100.

Note: these are re-certified, but come with a 6-month warranty through Western Digital.

I purchased the WD TV Live Plus during the last time these were on sale and it works awesome; it supports a ton of formats and even has some custom hacked firmware available for it if you're into that sort of thing.

Happy Holidays!

Is there even a point to getting anything but the original? It has HD and an HDMI port. Also of course it has a USB port.

The next model up offers an ethernet port, while the HD Plus also offers Netflix. You can use a wireless USB addapter to stream content to any of these models. Plus you can plug in any USB drive to play content from the attached drive on any model. The only difference that is noteworthy is that the latter two models USB port is vertical (more room for USB Flash Drives) and there is an ethernet port. So if you don't plan on using the Ethernet Port and you are willing to get custom firmware for Netflix then the other two models don't even matter.

This is of course through research as well as owning the regular model.

The original doesn't support dts audio. I ran into this issue once again last night. We all sat down to watch a movie and I had forgot to check if it had dts. So I had to go convert it.

Edit: This is true due to hardware limitations and the one they are selling on their site is generation 1 (didn't see this originally) and it wasn't possible until generation 2 and later models. It is easy enough to convert if you know how which is the easiest way to do it.
