i recently tested my 2gb gtx 285 on my x8 slot vs my x16 slot. with the card overclocked and stock.

the result was, there was absolutely no difference.
benchmarks were within 3fps of eachother.

gtx460 is very comparable to a 285, so you good man, it makes no difference

You guys owe me a guide/tutorial on how to overclock the i7 920 on a GA-X58A-UD3R for going offtopic

(So that I don't need to Google )

here you go:

turn on computer, go into bios, raise every setting you can to the highest, save and reboot, watch the fireworks.

Sadly, you are in the folding sub-forum. You will need to get use to this.

However, in our defense, the thread was bumped a lot for you, and it was still an informative talk.

You don't need a riser to limit bandwidth to x1.
You could tape up the contacts on your card like so
