my various comments/questions about pc games and peripherals

Thread Starter
i'm just gonna pile this all in one.

for starters, games. i just got splinter cell conviction for pc.
i have played them all... love the stealth... was afraid of not hiding bodies and assault style action, etc.
i finally decided to get it and i like it but:
A. is there a harder difficulty to unlock, or mods that improve it? its too easy.
B. is multiplayer dead?
C. why are there tracer rounds and why are they every other few shots. looks dumb.

next up: just got assassins creed 2, havent played it. more on that later.

then: titan quest, bought it havent played it. is it good and will it run on my laptop? amd neo k320 1.3ghz dual core with ati 4225 and 4gigs ram.

also: super meatboy, who is this for, will i like it?

peripherals:
mouse:
i bought the steel series xai from best buy, and i think it was a great buy if not one of my best.
the question is, is it possible to use software to turn the right-side buttons into sensitivivty adjustment macros? all it has is a button that switches between somewhat low and super high sensitivity.

keyboard:
a drop of water ruined my newish comfort curve so i just ordered a saitek backlit keyboard that is on newegg for under 40 with free shipping.
more on that later.

headset:
why is it that no headsets work worth a damn on my pc? super silent audio and my voice is merely a whisper unless i put the mic in my mouth.

i got a handful of clearance headsets from an office depot that closed down. they are all plantronics, when i get home.... more on that.

more later

You can adjust the CPI of the two ranges via the software and also create separate profiles i.e. you can have one range for one particular game, and a second for another etc.

it's not a bad keyboard, judge for yourself, a lot of people on this forum will sheep condemn you for not buying a mechanical keyboard

are you using on board sound? a good headset will always be hindered but an on board sound card. even the basic creative sound blaster cards are a night and day upgrade over on board.
