Need some Tips.

Thread Starter
Thats where I am Now:

GA-MA785GM-US2H + Phenom II x4 925 (stock 2.8)
3gd Ram ddr2

I am looking to get a Radeon car to fit a budget profile (up to 150$) to get the maximum out of my PC. Would be cool if I could CrossFireX it with my on Board.
Was looking at 5670 from XFX or Gigabyte.

2 problems:

-Budget
-PSU of 400W, that i'm not really eager to change.

Any good tips?

I see that you live in Canada, so where do you prefer to shop? I mean, can you order over the internet?

Also, which 400W power supply do you have? I mean, what's the brand name and model name/number?

I wouldn't trust that PSU any farther than I could throw it.

I am sorry, but I don't want to lie because anything I say causes me to responsible for your system.

So I'm saying that even using it right now is risky business.

you should go to pricebat.ca to compare prices for components between stores to see who has it cheaper, ncix is a very good store and they price match so you can price match a part thats a cheaper in another store.

Opened up my case, the sticker on the PSU sells it as a Rosewill LC-8400BTX but I wouldn't be surprised if it's re-branded. What would be your recommendation for a MicroAtx case?

I would replace the PSU before anything. I know that doesn't increase performance, but it sure does switch you over to a firm foundation.

The thing is, the case is new and it's a gift, so I won't be changing it. And the only solid brand I can find for MicroAtx cases is Diablotec, which doesn't make PSU with more then 380 watts.

That is kind of puts me in a tricky position.

You don't have to replace the case in order to get a new power supply. The power supply that comes with a case can be replaced, and that is what I highly/strongly recommend doing.
