GTX 470 or SLI GTX 275's?

Thread Starter
I want to get a GTX 470 but at the same time I don't think I'm going to gain any performance
My GTX 275's max out everything that i play at 100 fps ish give or take
Mafia II with physx on high, the witcher, black ops, new vegas, nba2k11, WoW
from 1 275 to a 470 is a no brainer but from 2 275's to a GTX 470?
Aside from DX11 what else would i be gaining from getting a 470.
I'd be losing fps even in DX10/9 games.
So is it worth it to "upgrade"?

Just wait until the GTX 275s aren't enough anymore than make your upgrade. At least then it will be worth it. Unless you can actually make some money selling your GTX 275s and buying a GTX 470 then I would hold off until something better comes along.

If you want less heat and power usage, also quieter, it's up to if you want more raw horsepower

Is this a display "20" HP 2009m" you are using for gaming? If so, even one GTX470 would be an overkill.

From what I seen my cards run cooler than what people say their 470's run by a good 10 degrees

The only issue that I can think of is that the longer you wait, the less money the GTX 275 SLI set-up will get.

GTX 275 SLI > GTX-580, GTX-480, GTX-295

However, if you get one GTX 470, you can get another one not long after, which would actually be an improvement.

If your GTX275 maxes out your games at 100+fps, then...no?
