The shorter i stroke my raid, the less stutter, the less access time taken = Get an SSD lol.

Anyway, can someone help me with the Antec 900 and fitting an SSD?
edit: i might do a thread with that question in the case section.

What sequential read speed do you get from your RAID0?

I get 180MB/s average, 220MB/s max, from two F3's in RAID0

I get 230MB/s average, 260MB/s max, from my OCZ Vertex2

I'm not entirely sure that moving games off my RAID array onto my SSD will make any noticeable difference at all

Boot times are definitely enhanced with the SSD, and having apps open instantly is awesome, and indeed the whole point of owning an SSD, but streaming textures in a 3D app aren't going to be a whole lot better, unless your array of F3's is running unusually slowly

People who run games off an SSD don't have any issues what i have. Guy's, trust me, this will work for what i want it to work. I might not be fully explaining it properly. I wish you could all come round to my home so i could show you exactly what's going on, along with my evidence as to why the SSD will help and how it will help me

Rep to all for the support you have given me so far. Am very exited to get this SSD installed. Am still struggling with this case, but ive got a few ideas as always.

I was just curious as to what seq. read spead you get from your array at various short-strokes. Have you done any benches with HD Tune?

Edit... my OCZ came with screws to fit the bracket into the case. Took my a while to work that out as well as I was trying to use the old ones from a different bracket, which were slightly larger

Yes, my screws are larger but it's the only way i can install a HDD.
As for the raid, i get around 280 max, 245 ave 230 min, 8.5ms access time.
I need tat good old 0.1ms. Ive looked all this up. Games run far better on a SSD interms of texture/level loading ect. Trust me mate, this will work for what am wanting as i explained in my other post.

Hey,

I would wait few more days before buying....Generation 3 will be out - Intel will probably disclose the 24nm SSDs on CES. That will probably bring Generation 2 SSD prices down (which is currently in the market). I personally will go for Generation 3 SSDs.

I believe you I'd definitely be interested in seeing your results, even if they are just anecdotal "wooo it's faster!"

sub'd as i'm interested in buying an SSD & lots of questions have already been answered in here, i think my hard disk might be choking my new build in games/Windows.

Whats all this generation 3 malarki? Should i wait til next month? i'm not in a rush particularly

Edit: lol, hardly cost effective: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/236492
