So what mechanical keyboard should i get - Page 2

definitely try a mechanical first it is a lot different than membranes and for me i actually type slower, due to i am very use to ergonomical curved keyboards, also i do not touch type properly.

I recommend a Dell AT101W as a starter keyboard, some people hate mechanicals and end up forking some cash over for something they can not return,

The dell can be found around the internet for around $20

they have this one at your local frys electronics and i like the feel of it, but people say the board rattles a bit. But it definitely felt good due to the tactile and light blue switches(i think they are blue)

Yea Get the regular black widow man. I personally own and and IMO I would not pay like 60 bucks more just for back lighting and an extra USB or two. basically aned up paying for another 2/3rds of a keyboard.

I agree. The Black Widow Ultimate is just not worth the money. Personally I'm not sure if I can justify $80 on a keyboard :/

I found it hard to make the justification myself, I got my rk 9000 for 75$ with free shipping. Now having this keyboard it's hard to work with anything else other than my mechanical at home. It's the little things that add up to the justification, like for example, the laser etched symbols and characters on the keys that will most likely never wear off. or the fluid motion that i get out of it when playing first person shooters. I would recommend if you are not as bold with your money as I am, to try and test one out somewhere that may carry them. Id think best buy would carry the new razer mechanical.

My local one only had the Lycosa in stock :/ If it were there I would definitely have tested it out. My current key board has 65g keys which I definitely feel on my fingers as they get sore typing on it. How pronounced is the tactile bump on the black widow with those blues??

Thread Starter
Thanks for the help and to be honest, with all of these choice i wanted all of them so it made it harder to choose but just this morning i got a $100 gift card for newegg for christmas from my family which took a while to officially get. So my decision was kind of made for me so i bought the RAZER Black Wired BlackWidow Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. not the ultimate. i really dont play or type in the dark so you guys convinced me not to get it so i used the rest of the money to pay for a new mouse. the Mionix naos 3200!

it'll be a different experience for sure, i'm sure you can also find some way to substitute the headphone passover with either a 5 1/4 faceplate or some variation, since that was one of your "must haves".

You can get the Adesso kb with Cherry Blues for around $60-70US. USB hub, sound jacks, and nkro.

Again, Cherry MX Blues, so if you want silent it's not the way to go.

EDIT: Nevermind, you already bought it lol. Congrats, can't wait to hear your thoughts on it.
