And then see if you can find a used 6850 in the for sale section with what's remaining.

Better memory:

Corsair XMS3 1600... 50 but after mail in rebate only 40. Its a steal. Great speed too.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145260

and Graphics Card XFX 5770.. 145.. after mir only 125. Probably the best NEW card you can get for your budget. Check out some used cards too! (make sure they have warranty)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150447

Total 165 after mail in rebates. But you gotta either come up with 195, borrow 15 from your mum, buy a lower brand 5770, or find a used card.

Hope this helped! ;D

Good luck.

HP ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB DDR3 PCIe Video Card--$121.49
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=VN566AT-DT

OCZ Gold 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 RAM PC3-6400 240-Pin DIMM--$46.99
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=OCZ3G8004GK

Good god, they acutally sell DDR3-800!?
Complete with crap 6-6-6 timings and a large-scale ripoff $47 price tag.
You can get RAM with twice the speed and 50% better latencies for cheaper (the Corsair XMS)

Well I'm trying to get back into the computer world. The last computer I built was a P3 933 and have been out of the loop sense. Still trying to bring my-self up to date on what's current.

Ah, I see. 800Mhz is a mainstream DDR2 speed now, and mainstream DDR3 from 1066Mhz to 1600Mhz and performance DDR3 running at 1600Mhz-2200Mhz+ is common now.

Agreed. This is great RAM. A used 6850 or 460 would definitely be your best bet. Good Luck!
