Low FPS on 570 gtx

Hey

Well I just bought a 570 gtx, I previously had a 5850 video card.

As I type I barely see what im typing because the letters start to appear like 10 seconds later.

Problem is, whenever I start any game It loads super slow, and worst of all the games run at 10-15 fps...and with the 5850 I used to run certain games at 100fps+ and now not even at 20 fps.

Edit: I had connected before the videocard with 2 rails, now it's connected with 3 rails and it's more fluid...but the fps in games is tripping from 20 to 70, and it lags.

What could be the problem?

Oh I also did a clean reformat to the pc, and problem is still here.

Specs:

Core 2 duo e8400 @3.00 ghz
ddr2 ram 4ghz 800mhz
Intel classic motherboard
320 gb hard drive

I don't think my pc setup is the problem, because with the 5850 I was running the games like butter.

So any helps would be appreciated.

Also I got a 700 watts power supply from OCZ and it has "72 amps convined" in 4 rails(18 amps per rail).

Note: I previously had a 5850 connected with 2 rails that gave "18 amps each one(36 amps combined supposedly). The 5850 asks for 30 amps and I never had a problem" But now with the 570 gtx I got 3 rails connected, so I believe it's more than enough.

cheers

Last driver from nvidia website

263.09

Right now I could say the videocard that my brother has(7xxx series) is performing better than my 570 gtx.

Did you use Driver Cleaner Pro after removing your ATI HD 5850 drivers from the registry? If not then that is your next step as these leftover entries can and will cause drivers issues when switching card manufaturers!

Thx4reply.

Yeah I used it, and also did a reformat after that, just to be sure every ATI leftover was gone.

Very strange...? Try to use Nibitor 5.6 ~ 5.7 to check for a healthy BIOS, that should at least rule out a bad or corrupt BIOS.

That's the problem.

That E8400 needs to be OC'd to atleast 3.8GHz to use the 570 properly-ish.

Or buy a Q9550 if you can't OC at all.

No that doesn't make any sense whatsoever, if his HD 5850 was doing 100+ plus FPS with the specs in his signature a GTX 570 should easily outperform his 5850. Also I don't see why his 3GHz processor would cause 10 second typing lag, read the rest of his post. I predict bad Vram.

Bad Vram means in short words that my 570gtx is faulty? Or it has to do with the motherboard...Im lost, and kinda tired....trying to solve this since 1 week ago.

Not sure if it might help, but the idle temp 40% fan speed is 40° right now.
