This is interesting... I have been having so many problems with ATI drivers to where I always ended up sticking with 10.5a drivers IIRC, this weekend I went ahead and reformatted and installed the 10.12 drivers first. I noticed okay FPS and no screen flicker like previous drivers but did notice it lags when I tab out from games.

I was seriously starting to think this was a issue with my hardware... Maybe 10.12's are to blame.

Honestly ATI better step up their game, I am so tempted to go back to the green side. I have been a loyal ATI customer since 3870X2... Which isnt too long but still bought every series to the 5970's.

I honestley have no idea what drivers I'm running, I just downloaded the one on the ATI site at the time when I got my 5970 (About a month and a half ago), and I can happily report I've had 0 problems, nothing whatsoever. I don't even see why people really update, unless it's a large patch of some sort, even then, if it doesn't affect my games, and I can max everything now stable, who cares?

hmmm

I have never had a problem with none of the drivers from ATI, nor Nvidia

perhaps you guys doing something wrong...

That's why I asked if a driver could cause artifact or instability...

I feel like its a hit and miss. I tried different drivers, tried different ways to install them. 10.5a seemed to give me less issues. Either way, you should not have these issues by simply updating drivers. Sure im all for the "if its not broke, dont fix it" but this is enough. I never had any issues with drivers like this before. /rant

I agree about maxing games, but when I get random FPS drops on some games it bugs me. Hence why I try different drivers hoping to solve this issue. I came from 4870's crossfired and had zero issues, I was hoping for a upgrade...

Well I dont see what I did wrong when I do a fresh install with the 10.12's. Thankfully the only BIG issue I have with 10.12's is the freezing when I tab out of a game. Games are playing somewhat better than before so I cant complain TOO much

When downgrading, you can use CCC's built-in uninstall feature.

I don't think I was. I used Driver Sweeper both in Safe mode and Windows. Both ways failed me for some reason.

Oddly enough, I get that too. OCing seemed to get rid of it though. :/

They both "failed" because it's not necessary to use driver sweeper with ATI drivers.
