Ok, so I came across this while looking around AIDA64...

How's that possible and does it have anything to do with the fact that I have my graphics card plugged in the second slot:

Run GPUZ to see if that is what it is actually running at

If so then update your BIOS to your mobo

Some motherboards have different speed PCI-e slots. Mine has a top x16 speed and my bottom is x4.. Put it in the 1st slot and it should cure it

yes. im pretty sure its meant to be in the top slot. and it doesnt do anything to hurt the performance of that card. a 480 barely gets and performance hit

Ok going to run GPUZ, if it's x8 going to put the card into the first slot, if that doesn't help; BIOS update

1st and 3rd PCIE x16 slots run at full 16x 2.0 speed and 2nd & 4rth PCIE x16 slots run at x8 2.0 speed..

If you run 4 graphic cards in your system each PCIExpress slot will work @ x8 2.0 speed (x8/x8/x8/x8)..

You are using 2nd PCIExpress slot that natively run " x8 speed..

Move your Graphic card to either 1st or 3rd PCIEexpress slot for full 16x 2.0 speed..

CHEERS..

there is almost no tangible difference between pci-e 2.0 x16 and x8, but anyway, pci-e slot 1 will be the best

Got the same motherboard, the PCI-E slots go;

1) x16

2) x8

3) x16

4) x8

But if there is a card in slot 2 or 4, then all the PCI-E slots go to x8
