I've got just enough to get this monitor, it's 1440x900, DVI, and widescreen.

I've currently got a VGA, 17" 4:3 monitor with craptacular built-in speakers.

I really would like a new monitor but can't afford to go to a much higher resolution, as I can't afford a new GPU.

Firstly, will my 4670 still have similar performance at 1440x900 than it does at 1280x1024

and secondly, is it worth picking up this monitor?
