Airflow Issue

Thread Starter

Hello

I'm having an airflow issue with my PC. I know this is the problem, because if I remove the side, the temp drops.

My PC isn't overheating, it's just going hotter than it should, and hotter than it does with the side off.

Perhaps anyone could suggest something to help drop the temps? Maybe change the fans around etc..

My cooler:

Diagram of how it's all set out:

Thanks

Tom

Your case only has two fans? Does it have any optional slots to add extras?

Hello.

Can you post a pic of your PC?

If you want to improve airflow you could cut out any built-in fan grills and if you have a tower case with extra external drive bays, then a Scythe Kama Bay Cooler.

You could also do a Blow hole Mod.

Wow, I like the look of the Kuma Bay cooler, would they ship that to Europe?

It seems to be a US based company?

I'll post a few pics in a while

Uh... why do you have two (3 if you count the psu) exaust fans and no intakes? You are starving your case of air buddy. Thats why opening up the case it helping, you are letting in cool air.

Flip that side fan and make it an intake. If you can, put an intake up front as well.

Check your "local" internet PC stores/Suppy stores, they might have them.

If not one could always zip-tie a 120mm fan to the exposed external bays. It may not be all that clean and tidy, but it will get the job done.

Or, you could mod your existing external bays to accomodate a fan:

Flip that side fan around.

Your case is currently relying heavily on negative pressure.

Are there any form of ventilation holes elsewhere in your casing?

EDIT: I doubt you have a prebuilt chassis... Unless you placed a side fan yourself.
