1090t worth it?

Hello,

I am planning to upgrade my sig rig. I cannot decide which cpu to purchase though. The two cpus I have narrowed it down to are the 1055t and the 1090t. Is the 1090t worth the extra money? The motherboard I will probably use is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138193, Can anyone tell me how both of these cpus OC on this board? I would like to get at least 4.0Ghz stables 24/7.

If you're gonna OC just get the 1055T and save the extra money. They OC just as good.
Altough, if you want to go the easy way and OC with multiplier, get the 1090T, since it's unlocked.

That board seems to be good enough, either of those cards should get easily to 4 ghz, but if you're unlucky you might get a bad one.

Thank you for your response. What would happen if I use this RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-225-_-Product since it is 3 sticks and designed for i7 and triple channel?

I have 1055t and TA890FXE. The combo works well for me. The higher I can got was 3.7G but I scaled it back to 3.5G 24/7. In general, the 1090t OC should be better than 1090t but OC is luck and see how well the chip, ram and board work.

I'd wait for the bulldozer! AM3+

You can usually get 4Ghz at around 1.45v
and temps vary depending on cooler and room temps, you generally want it below 62c

atm I have my 1055t running 100% load at 51c, it's winter and I have my window open

edit: but if you're confident and have lots of free time to OC, go for the 1055t

I haven't touched it for awhile. I think it is 3.5G with 1.36v at max 55c.

my 1090t sits at 4.015 stable @1.375 volts.

1055t comes in a 95w variation. If you do get the 1055t then make sure you get the 95w version.
