RAM for gA-X58A UD3R

:wave2:All:

I am planning a build and could use a RAM recommendation.
Mobo: GA-X58A-UD3R
CPU: i&-950
Design Target to operate 24/7 at near 4 GHz on liquid cooling
Primary application is Photoshop CS5 and Nikon Capture NX2
I expect to use 12 GB RAM, due to large file sizes and need for speed.

I have narrowed to the following list. My thought was to target low CAS (7). I see that many people are choosing to go with DDR3 1600, even though the board supports up to 2200. The higher speed RAM is ~double the cost. Will I be able to reach my target with DDR3 1600?

My inclination is to go with the G.Skill CL7D. Any reasons why this would not be a good choice? Alternate reccomendations?
Thanks in advance.

All of those kits are deactivated & out of stock except for the dominator c8 kit, which work at their rated specs but suck for overclocking.
OP, if you aren't planning on overclocking the memory too much any of the kits you have listed would be fine, you don't really need faster than 1600Mhz unless you plan on doing some benchmarking where 2000Mhz could come in handy. I'd go for a g-skill or mushkin kit over the corsair.

The Mushkin set you listed is a great set of RAM. I have 4 gigs of it and they run like champs. Mine are at 7-8-7-24 with stock DRAM voltage. Also I would not recommend any Dominator set as they are just about always way over priced. As previously stated a nice set of 1600 RAM will do you just fine.

Thanks all. I believe I will go with the G.Skill DDR3 1600 -- either the CL7D or CL7T. I appreciate the input.
