Right now, I'd just like to have a good stable gaming computer, and then overclock if I need performance and can't afford new parts.
still even in that case i think any new generation phenom proccy would not bottlenck a game to noticiable levels so u will be good with 1055t and in future when games start utilizing more cores then ur x6 will come in handy.....so my vote is x6>x4 and overclock it mildly to 3.2ghz and it will overtake the x4 955 in performance(in gaming)......

Actually, for "Most Games" a 4ghz Dual core will out perform a 2.8ghz 6 core.... It will be years before games can fully utilized more then 2 cores... 955 > 1055 in gaming for at least another year.

but as i said with mild overclock and when both are clocked at 3.2ghz then the performance in games will be similar and additionally the x6 will perform better for other apps than the x4....so x6 is more suitable than 955....well in the end it all comes down to how much the op is willing to spend imho 1055t will be his best bet,,,,,,

I'm hoping that before the x6 becomes better in games without an overclock, I'll have something better from AMD or Intel. This replacement CPU isn't meant to be a long term thing, but if I'm going to spend money, I want to get something that will be a little better than what I have.
