Need some vdroop assistance (L6740L) - Page 3

Couldn't get it to short with my pencil so I attached a couple wires.

Shorting 4 and 5 has no effect of vdroop.

Tone these and see if they connected to the pins, the FB is most certainly connected to the red resistor [think we both know that already ] ..I am thinking the other is the droop resistor..I am not convinced this circuit is using droop in the same fashion though..the datasheet says it can be used strictly as a current source indicator for OCP info to the circuit.

Attachment 194541

*see if pin3 is connected to ground or not please..this can boost output with additional 'offset'. Was looking at FqSw'ing mod too..may be tangible for those thubans sapping the life out of the power phases..just a though.

CL, look at my pics again. FB and droop are on the 2nd pic. FB= 4.3K, droop = 3.3k.

brb, shutting down to test pin 3 to ground.

EDIT: Pin 3 is the 64K to ground. It's in the pic to.

i am still coherent enough to know that if you penciled droop down and had no affect, then droop is being used only for monitoring purposes..

I'll look at this again later with you.

Vdroop isn't just limited to the M4N98TD EVO, my M4A87TD EVO is rather horrid with it. Setting my Vcore to 1.5, I get fluctuations from 1.25-1.46, never anymore than 1.46 though. Really annoying when you seem to have a solid overclock, runs great for about a hr, then BSOD. The other day I actually ran Prime95 for 45 mins, no problems. Stopped the workers and clicked to close, and it bluescreens. It's kindda like it's fine under load, but once you take the load off, the voltage spikes then drops, then spikes back up. This is on Manual voltage settings in BIOS, not intervals.
