anisotropic filtering in BFBC2 - Page 2

post #11 of 13
What we need is a comparison of the differences in BC2 Application Anisotropic, to ATI/Nvidia forced Anisotropic.

And then a comparison of the differences in BC2 Application Anti-Aliasing, to ATI/Nvidia 'Enhanced' and 'Over-ride' Anti-Aliasing.

Without a frame counter, when I match 'Enhanced AA' on the GTX275 to the BC2 AA in the app settings, I visually notice a decrease in frames. Frames seem to be fine with 'Over-ride' setting.

My settings for smooth game play with sig rig-
Code:
[WindowSettings]
Width=1440
Height=900
Fullscreen=true
RefreshRate=74.984001
VSync=false
[Sound]
Quality=low
VoipEnable=true
SpeakerCount=0
[Graphics]
Effects=medium
Soldiers=high
Vehicles=high
Overgrowth=medium
Undergrowth=medium
StaticObjects=medium
Terrain=medium
Shadows=low
Bloom=false
HSAO=false
MSAA=1
Water=medium
MainQuality=custom
Texture=medium
DxVersion=10
Aniso=2
Detail=high
RenderAheadLimit=2
Fov=86

[GTX275]
Texture Filtering - High Quality
LOD - Allow
Single Display/Multi-GPU Acceleration - Single Display
Power Management - Performance

It does effect framerates but nowhere near as much as AA does. I mean I got a 4 FPS drop from making the 0 to 16x jump......
