Can't increase refresh rate

I've trolled google and looked around for a solution to this issue and have so far come up pretty empty.

My issue is, I have an LG 42LD630 TV connected via HDMI to a XFX Radeon HD 5830 1 GB. Forgive me if I get totally lost but the tv model claims to support 1080p at 240hz. Currently I am sitting at 1920x1080 and 60hz and it's giving me a bit of a headache after extended use.

I've tried going into CCC and even installed their latest and greatest software update. No luck, I've looked for some mention of "EDID" and can't find any checkbox that so many people seem to reference.

I've downloaded Monitor Asset Manager but still see relatively low figures that I am seeing already.

Any help, instruction, or anything really would be great. If I am simply not able to have a higher refresh rate I would love to understand why.

Thanks so much in advance and I look forward to your responses.

The TV isn't true 240hz, just interpolated. TV's don't have the same refresh rate as the 120hz LCD Monitors.

Are you on the new GUI CCC, or old?

I think I understand, so the TV is only capable of 60hz input but it is using it's processing engine to add in the extra frames etc. while I am watching a movie and so such.

Theoretically with a computer monitor I could go higher with a DVI dual link.

So really it is helping out but it's out of the computers hands at a certain point.
