AMD Athalon II X4 640 @ 3.4 As good as it gets? - Page 9

Looks like C1E, along with Cool and Quiet(it is also called Power Now I think on a few boards). So look around for those power settings as their the only ones I can think of capable of doing that to the CPU. As for me I'm thinking about jumping ship. I've had nothing but bad experiences with AMD and this one did nothing to change that.

I passed p95 in Blend at 3.6GHz only to discover that my board now suddenly refuses to work with the Bluray drive I have even though earlier in the day it was working fine. I have never had this much problems with a board before. The 80USD price tag seems too much considering how crappy this thing has performed. Never have I with any other build passed p95 and then have the computer fail to work properly. I don't know what to do at this point since even defaults don't work in having the disk drive operate correctly.

End result for me:
3.6GHz
2.4GHz NB
1920 HT
1278 RAM
1.525 CPU voltage
1.2 VDDNB
19.33% LLC (this setting prevents the most vdrop/vdroop supposedly)

I got about a week or two to refund it but I've never done it through newegg so does anyone have experience with that?

Yea, just log on to Newegg and in the user tools you can request a refund. It is usually best to call them however. It will be much easier if you are willing to make an exchange for other products.

I will get the new [official] post up this afternoon.

Your settings are close to mine, except I was able to take my ram up to 1600, but it is 1600 ram.

So -15% and I can exchange my board for what? I don't know what is a good board and I have no option to go $100 or above. Considering I'd be taking a loss with the refund I'm pretty damn pissed. I just don't get it. I worked fine with defaults no matter what and now it doesn't? This board is killing me. I was supposed to have this build be the last for some time and for it to work without issue and I've gotten exactly the opposite of that. I guess I'll never escape my nickname of "Murphy's Law".

LOL. I was thinking the same thing. Though I'm probably going to refund/exchange my mobo. But your problem sounds entirely like bad cooling or low power.

I on the other had can't use an optical drive since plugging it into the esata port disables the ethernet port and through USB it just doesn't work. Sorely disappointed with AMD and their mobos.
