XTRAC Ripper XXL/Cloth Pads and Laser Mice (Avago 9500)

Hey guys, just ordered a Mionix Naos 5000 laser mouse from the egg, and along with it, I ordered the XTRAC Pads Ripper XXL (pretty much a desk pad/mousepad)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-001-_-Product

Reason I liked it is that I have a glass desk and getting annoyed by all the fingerprints, etc etc

But im reading now that basically my mouse wont track well on it? (I think the mionix has the same sensor as the g500? (Avago 9500)

Should I cancel my order and order a different pad (I have a razer vespula now)

Anyone with laser mice and cloth pads comment on this? Thanks....

It works. I have my G500 paired with the Ripper XXL. PERFECT. Been using this set up for about 6 months and I've never notice any troubles or problems.

How you liking the XXL? Seems like an awesome idea to me...especially for people with glass desks

Definitely get a different pad. I am using the RipperXL right now and it sucks. After only two days, the cloth is separating from the backing and starting to make my desk look crappy.

I would go for a hard plastic pad with a metal backing, but that's just me.

One more thing, the mause pad smelled SOOO bad (plastic smell), that I had to leave it outside for 2 days to get rid of the smell. I opened it up at my parents Christmas party, and I got smelly comments immediately.

Aside from all the BAD THINGS, it works well with my G5.

But for the price...I guess it kinda makes up for its shortcomings. I am definitely getting a steel pad.

@saiyanzzrage: Laser mice work very well with dark surfaces. In fact, I play on the Ripper XXL mat myself everyday with a laser mouse and it rocks. I doubt you will have any problems at all.

@mllrkllr88: I'm really sorry for the trouble you've experienced. Did you send it back for a refund? I know if I had a pad that broke after 2 days and smelled that bad the first thing I would do is get an RMA# from where I bought it... or at least contact the manufacturer to see what they had to say about it.

I will say that open cell rubber can tend to smell a little harsh for a few hours after opening it no matter what brand the pad is.

I'm sorry to hear you don't like your Ripper XL mat but I can tell you that thousands and thousands of other users have had awesome results with that pad.
