Looking for a cheap headset

Thread Starter
I just need a cheap headset to play games occasionally. I don't listen to music that much and I really don't play games that much either. I am definitely not looking for the best sound in the world at all, just decent.

I don't want to speed much at all maybe $30 tops. I know that this is kinda hard and I won't have amazing quality or anything, but I just would like to get the best cheap one.

Thanks

You don't want USB. Just get one of the ones posted with a Zalman mic.

Ah okay. Why is USB bad? Haha. I think I have mic and speaker jack on the back of my mobo..or maybe on my new keyboard..whatever it is. I just thought that the USB was more convenient since it was on the front panel.

As you can tell, I don't know much when it comes to audio!

For me, USB has always been a hassle. I've had a USB headset before and it never worked when I plugged it in while the game was running. I had to close Vent, close WoW, plug in the USB headset, then load the programs. It may have been my audio settings, but it always bugged me. Now I am using the AD700s with a Zalman mic and never had the same USB problems.

As for a headset, I bought my brother the

from Frys for $25 as a Christmas gift. I tried it on. It was a little tight for me, but he's been using it the last couple days for 4-5 hours straight so it doesn't bother him.

HD201+zalman mic
USB headsets have a sound card in it, but the quality of them isn't comparable to a standard 3.5mm. even the logitech G35s can be beaten by like low end cans!
