[Believe3D] LG to launch the biggest 3D TV - Page 3

Mitsubishi has bigger. The Conns about a mile from my house has an 82 inch one.

On another note, who wants active 3D TVs? I've used them before, and they are absolutely horrible. I cannot see the 3D effect properly, the image seems to flicker badly, and the glasses seem to easily get out of sync on the nvidia, samsung, and sony models.

As a person who just recently shelled out the bucks for a monitor and the 3D vision kit I can honestly say it is amazing. Most people begin with the thought that it is a gimmick and is pointless (me) but once you try it and get used to it. Oh my goodness it is very cool.

How long can you watch 3d movies until your eyes get tired ?

why bash on it just being 1080p? It already looks clear and beautiful in 1080p. Beyond that is just flatout overkill.

this.

1080p is magnificent already.

and trust me...ive seen 300k+ personal home theaters at doctors houses with 1080p projectors on HUUUUGE sheets. i know quality. 1080 is enough for quite a long time.

or get blind.

@r3skyline: IMO, I think 1080p is enough until we get holograms. Then we can say that it truly is a step up from the current gen televisions and not just some upping of refresh rates and 3D conversion on the software side.

3D sucks. I have zero interest in it and so does the rest of America based on 3d sales.

Except I have used active shutter glass technology. First of all for people who wear glasses already, ie me, it sucks to have to wear double glasses, two it can be annoying and distracting especially in movies that were shot in 2d and processed to be 3d, and they can give headaches/eye strain.

They need to come back when glasses are no longer a requirement. Even then I don't know.

That's why 3d tvs are considered one of the biggest failures of 2010

3D will be an immature platform until you don't need glasses and it is under $1500 for a 42".
