Small audio problem

Thread Starter
Hi, I have a small audio problem on my laptop. When i listen to music, or watch movies, the sound is all normal, but when i plug in my headset using the 3.5mm jack plug, sound comes out through the headset AND the internal speakers and i don't know how to use just the 3.5mm plug.

Any suggestions?

BTW, i'm using Ubuntu 10.10

EDIT: I can add that this was no problem when i used 10.10 Beta, but when i switched to final release, this problem show up.

Click on the speaker icon and go to sound preferences. In the output, see if you can change that to headphones.

I've checked, and there's no "Headphone" option available. :/

EDT: Good new everyone!

I found a sollution.

Open a terminal, and type "alsamixer"
Navigate to "Headphone" and press "M"

This will enable the sensor that checks if devices are plugged in.

Happy listening
