But general consensus is that it'll run fine at max on DX10 settings, maybe with lower AA or Physx? Does the DX11 version make a huge difference?
aka should I bother upgrading my stuff? XD
DX11 adds tesselation and DOF. DOF is a big hit, tesselation a minor hit. So yes, there's a big difference.
PhysX will rape your FPS unless you get the card to do the work. I don't know how well a GTX 295 would do, but I know that when I use adv. PhysX, I limit my framerate to 18 FPS in the benchmark tool no matter what other settings I have because I have to use the CPU. I doubt anything but a dedicated PhysX card will be strong enough though.
When adv. PhysX are off, the game is completely GPU limited. So much that I get better FPS than guys with quads (I'm number 3 from the bottom): http://www.overclock.net/benchmarkin...-official.html
Try maxing it.
Yes, they've released a demo. Go try it yourself and see if you like it. I'd recommend getting the game no matter what settings you have to run it at, 'cause I thoroughly enjoyed the story (got it for Christmas). Don't expect that a playthrough takes more than 10 hours though. The game makes up for this by actually making me want to play it again. And there's an alternative ending, so I actually have a reason to play it again Edited by B!0HaZard - 12/28/10 at 5:34pm
