Modding a couple 8800GTS's for Moparman.

Here are the cards:

Got them fitted to a GPU loop with QDCs for easy removal.

Cards in the rig Moparman was nice enough to loan me since I broke the motherboard.

GPU and MEM mods down to both cards. Wasn't sure what size VR I want to use for the MEM so I used a fan header instead of a switch. This way I can just plug VRs into it. Using a 10K VR for now, but thinking about picking up a couple 20K's.

Card #1 is stuggling in the OC department. The shaders seems really weak, the core barely does 700Mhz. vDroop is pretty bad at ~.06v. Hoping some caps will help this card some. The Hynix memory performed as expected. Slightly over 1Ghz with 1.86v.

Card 2 is OCing a little bit better then card 1. The Samsung memory isn't scaling like I was hoping they would.

During SLi, the limited core clocks on card 1 really cut down the core clocks during SLi.
Though, the shaders preformed quite well scaling higher then either card did running single.

Next up, caps mods and maybe some memory timing adjustments if Nibitor will let me.

Subb'ed....
The memory Vmods ive done never helped. Just lowered the maximum clock actually. How does that work for you?

Depends on the memory module in question. Samsungs love voltage, Hynix like just a touch and Qimonda likes voltage to be lowered.

Here's the stock voltage runs. 3Dmark06 is the bench of choice of this session.

Card 2 is a great clocker from stock voltage. Core and shader scale really well. It has Samsung memory modules to. Card 1 is struggling a bit and has Hynix memory modules. Both cards are running ~1.2v GPU and ~1.75v MEM.

Well hope you like the setup. I get tired of things very fast as you can tell. That is why ive had more GPus and cpu's in a year than most people have ever owned.
